SDA Church Kileleshwa Community FC host CPF FC in a sports evangelism match

The SDA Church Kileleshwa Community Football Club today, February 25, 2024 hosted CPF Financial Services Football Club (CPF FC) in a Friendly match aimed at enhancing sports evangelism.

The friendly match was played on a cloudy morning at the Kileleshwa Primary sports ground, where both teams, adorned in their respective jerseys, fervently embraced the intersection of faith and sports.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as players from SDA Church Kileleshwa Community and CPF FC stepped onto the field, ready to engage in a match that transcended the boundaries of competition.

Despite the ultimate outcome favoring CPF FC with a victory, the essence of the event lay beyond the scoreline. The initiative was driven by the belief that sports can serve as a powerful medium for spreading the message of love, unity, and community fellowship.

This sports evangelism not only provides an avenue for friendly competition but also offers an opportunity for SDA Church Kileleshwa Community to reach the world with the gospel. The shared passion for sports serves as a conduit for meaningful conversations and connections, allowing individuals to build relationships beyond the confines of traditional religious settings.

In the spirit of good sportsmanship, the SDA Church Kileleshwa Community graciously accepted the defeat, emphasizing the broader purpose of the event – promoting unity, fellowship, and evangelism.

Speaking during the event, CPF FC Coach, and former Harambee Starts Head Coach James Nandwa encouraged the SDA Church Kileleshwa Community FC to continue training hard, emphasizing that consistency is the key to improved results.

“This team has talents, what you need to do is be consistent in your trainings. A good team is built on the foundation of team work and consistency,” said coach Nandwa.

SDA Church Kileleshwa Community FC Team Manager Gideon Nyameino also praised both teams for their efforts on the field despite his team losing the match.

“This is our first professional match and we expected that it’ll be a difficult game, but my boys gave their all. CPF FC is a good team and I admire the work coach Nandwa is doing. We now move forward with a lot of lessons and we are looking forward to have a reverse fixture,” said Nyameino.
